I&#39;d like to also add one more point. I&#39;ve found that an additional way to get out of Sucksville is to surround yourself with people that choose ANYTHING, other than misery. Often we want people that will say what we WANT to hear but more often than not, we need to be around those that will state what we NEED to hear. <br /><br />Align yourself with a strong support group, people that will inspire, brainstorm, offer constructive criticism and will help you think through how to get yourself out of a rut. If you don&#39;t have anyone in your immediate circle than join an online community or start one yourself. If online communities aren&#39;t your thing, then consider volunteering somewhere and building out a new community. At a minimum, your volunteer efforts will inevitably help others in need.Sheri S. Your words are so true and the path you cleared for anyone in trouble is so easy to follow if you just get up off your duff and start living. <br /> I have had my share of Sucksville trips, just like so many other people in the world. I have found that it is easier to get through the trials of life if you lean on the Man. When I got divorced, I was a very bitter, angry man. Shortly after the divorce was final, I went to an Emmaus Walk in Greensburg. I left there a different person. Four days of people praying for me? Wow, what a rush. The bitterness, the anger, the self pity were gone. That&#39;s the deal breaker, I think. I&#39;ve had some friends and family that were in bad places that didn&#39;t believe. I just prayed for them and stayed with them. I didn&#39;t go all preachy and turn them away. I just met them where they were and stayed true to them.
